Post Treatment Care
Rejuran (Salmon DNA)
Why it matters.
Rejuran is a skin rejuvenation treatment that works by injecting polynucleotides into the dermal layer to repair and regenerate the skin. Because this involves multiple injection points, your skin barrier is temporarily compromised, and a bio-compatible substance has been introduced. Following aftercare is essential to reduce risks, support healing, and ensure the best results.
Care Guidelines.
Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying makeup to the treated area for at least 12 hours.
Use gentle, hydrating skincare — avoid actives such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or exfoliants for 3–5 days.
Apply a soothing, non-active moisturiser or serum recommended by your practitioner.
Always apply SPF daily and avoid sun exposure, solariums, or tanning.
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat (saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms) for 24–48 hours.
Stay well hydrated and maintain a nutrient-rich diet to support recovery.
If bruising occurs, a topical bruising cream may help reduce discolouration, if this is something you are interested in, please contact the clinic for support.
In-Clinic Support.
A Rejuran Healing Mask is recommended directly after treatment to soothe, calm, and enhance absorption of actives into the skin.
LED Light Therapy may also be performed after treatment or within the first 24–48 hours to reduce inflammation and accelerate skin recovery. Ideally, continue 2–3 sessions in the first week for enhanced results.
Schedule a review at 2 weeks to assess results and plan ongoing treatments.
A course of Rejuran treatments is often recommended, with sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart for optimal outcomes.
For bruising concerns, consider using a medical-grade bruising cream to speed up recovery, which can be discussed with your practitioner.
Concerns.
Redness, swelling, or mild bruising are normal and should settle within a few days. However, please contact the clinic immediately if you experience severe or persistent pain, spreading redness, significant swelling, unusual discharge, changes in skin colour (such as blanching or dusky tones), or anything that feels concerning. Your safety is our highest priority, and our team is here to support you.
What to expect.
It’s common to experience small bumps at injection sites (often called “mosquito bite” appearance), redness, mild swelling, or bruising. These usually settle within 24–72 hours. Bruising may last up to a week depending on your skin. Some clients also notice mild tightness or sensitivity, which is temporary as your skin begins the healing and regeneration process.
Day 1 (pm only): Use a gentle cleanser followed by a soothing, hydrating serum or cream. Avoid all active ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C).
Day 2–3 (am/pm): Continue with a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, barrier-repairing moisturiser, and SPF in the morning. Still avoid active ingredients.
Day 4–7 (am/pm): If your skin feels calm and fully settled, you may slowly reintroduce mild actives. Keep hydration and skin barrier support as the priority.
Day 7–Ongoing: Resume your full skincare routine under the guidance of your practitioner, with continued focus on hydration and sun protection to support long-term results.
Incorporating Skincare.
Rejuran works by stimulating skin repair and regeneration, so results are gradual and cumulative. After completing a course of treatments, results typically last 6–12 months, with maintenance treatments recommended to sustain skin health and long-term improvements.
